Short Film

I am back! I apologize my fellow bloggers.

After a long two years of finishing up my high school career I have returned and now I am a freshman at Western Carolina University studying a B.F.A. in Acting!

While I was in my senior year, I created a short film (well, many short films but this is the one that most proud of.) It’s about a writer and her struggle of killing off a character in her book. Which is a problem that all writer’s face, even the fantastic J.K. Rowling! So here it is.

Feel free to comment about what you would like to see, any kind constructive criticism or any kind of content that you want me to upload on my youtube channel! Let me know!

Here it is: Short Film The Writer’s Cowardice

Get To Know Me: 21 Questions.

I found this a long time ago and I lost the website to give credit to, so if this is yours please comment and I will edit it to give you the credit!

I thought we should get to know each other since you’re following this blog so here you go:

1. Are you named after anyone? Why yes I am! Well my middle name is. I got my middle name ‘Kate’ from the musical “Kiss Me Kate.” which explains my love for musicals and my singing abilities.

2. When was the last time you cried? This morning when I was reading “All I Know Now.” by Carrie Hope Fletcher. It’s a fabulous book, and it’s giving me tears. (Probably because it’s that time of the month.)

4. If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself? OH YEAH. I’m a really good friend, I love all my friends to death. I spoil them with friendship (not in gifts but in loyalty.) I’m a true Hufflepuff.

5. Do you use sarcasm a lot? No. Not at all. What are you talking about 😉

6. Will you ever bungee-jump? Mmm….nope. .

7. What’s your favorite cereal? Froot Loops, my dad and I are the people on the commercial that play Mario and scream “YEAH YEAH.” while my mom’s asleep and unaware of the fact that Dad just brought me froot loops.

8. What’s the first thing you notice about people? The way they treat others and the way they treat themselves.

9. What is your eye color? Hazel.

10. Scary movie or happy endings? Happy Endings, although….I hate endings.

12. Summer or winter? BOTH! I love Sweater weather but I love being free from responsibilities.

13. Computer or television? Computer. I’m not going to explain this one.

14. What’s the furthest you’ve ever been from home? When I went on a week long college road trip with my dad around the Northeast.

15. Do you have any special talents? I’m a singer, actress, writer, reader and I wish I was a fabulous artist but I can’t draw to save my life.

19. Favorite movie? The Imitation Game. The Writing was fabulous, Benedict’s performance was amazing and I honestly cannot find a single flaw in that movie.

20. Do you have any siblings? Two older brothers. Both moved out. I’m still living with my parents. (That’s because I’m sixteen and I have to. I’m not complaining.)

21. What do you want to be when you grow up? I’ll be an actress! And I’ll assure that’s what will finally come to pass! 😉

The Epic Reads Tag

1) If you could invite one author and one of their fictional characters to tea, who would you like to invite and what would you serve them?

Oh gosh, that’s like asking me to decide my fate. I can’t do this. ITS TOO HARD! I’ll do it anyway though. For you guys.

Not to sound like a total weirdo but I would invite Shakespeare and Romeo to discuss Romeo’s life decisions. I mean Romeo come on, he’s a total creep going after Juliet who hasn’t even gone all the way through puberty yet, when he’s still in love with Rosalind? Just a thought, even though Romeo and Juliet is my least favorite Shakespearean play, I would just love to discuss Romeo’s life choices with Shakespeare. It would be quite interesting.

Plus, I wonder if the tea would even taste good? Maybe I should bring them both to my time period. That sounds a heck of a lot more interesting.

2) Which book do you wish the author would write a prequel for?

I agree with you Mia! I have always wanted a prequel for the Maruaders but not just one….two….or three…or seven.

But J.K. Rowling doesn’t have to…it would be nice though…

3)  Which two characters (NOT from the same book) do you think would make a good couple?

Molly Aster from Peter and the Starcatchers(Book)/Peter and the Starcatcher(Play) with the 11th Doctor from Doctor Who. I don’t why, I just ship them really hard.

4) If you ran into your favorite author on the subway and could only say one sentence to them who is it and what would it be?

If I ran into J.K. Rowling on the subway  I’d probably hug her, and tell her how much Harry Potter has changed my life, and then try not to creep her out with my love for her talents.

5) What book made you a reader and why?

I honestly don’t mean to sound like a broken record, but it was Harry Potter then Percy Jackson. I have never stopped reading since then. My friends and I used to play pretend as the characters in Harry Potter and I refused to read the books, until one day I picked up the first one, and I fell in love.

6) Your bookshelf just caught fire. What is the one book you would save?

MY SHAKESPEARE LEXICONS. I CANNOT SURVIVE THEATRE CLASS WITHOUT THEM AH. AND I’D PROBABLY SAVE the things I haven’t read. I wouldn’t just take one. I would risk my arms getting burned just to save more than one book.

7) Which dystopian world would you want to live in and why?

I knew I would regret not reading more than just two dystopian books…

I only read the Divergent series and the Hunger Games series, and for some strange reason I would love to live in the Hunger Games World. The reason why is still sort of a mystery to me, I mean there’s so much death and I’m not a person who would want to be near war and stuff like that. I don’t know maybe it’s because Allegiant sucked so much that I will never want to live in their world.

8) What is your most Epic Read of all time?

Nonfiction: The 5 Essential Steps to Achieving a Fearless Mind and Higher Performance.

I forgot the author’s name and I’m in bed so I’m not going to check yet. Please excuse my laziness. This book taught me many valuable life lessons.

Fiction: The Percy Jackson Series. Those were so epic, and they were my life in sixth grade, my entire existence revolved around that series.

16 Things Only Theatre Kids Will Understand

1. “I can’t I have rehearsal” is almost your excuse for everything and no one understands how important rehearsal is to you and your cast.

2. You don’t live in New York so you cannot see your favorite Broadway stars in the shows that they are in.

3. Your parents believe that “You’ve already seen too many shows.”

4. SMASH was your favorite NBC show that ever existed and you’re angry that the only reason why they cancelled it was “it was too gay.”

5.  You are always practicing.

6. You are always singing and going over choreography.

7. Shakespeare is either your best friend or your enemy.

8. You don’t understand why Anna Kendrick continues to get roles in musicals when she clearly stated that she is “F***ing tired of singing.”

9. You save every program to every show that you have ever attended to.

10. When you’re home alone you play the full cast of every musical ever written.

11.  It is so rare to find a sexy straight male who can sing and dance and that is why you love Newsies so much.

12.  You and your theatre friends break out into “Cell Block Tango” whenever possible.

13. You are so obsessed with your favorite Broadway actors, however you have only seen them in youtube videos.

14. You have made the mistake of drinking dairy before a show, and it was the worst experience ever.

15. IF you ever see a show you walk out with a strange kind of joy that you can only feel from seeing a show.

16. You still dream of performing on Broadway or West End and you never let anyone get in your way.

As a theatre kid myself, I say to all the dreamers out there. It only gets better, I promise. That’s something I’m trying to believe, but once you believe in yourself the possibilities are endless.
